PROGRAMME

Friday, 6 December 2002

[Arrival of delegates. The delegates will be met at the airport and vans will be available to transport them to the venue of the conference.  A conference secretariat will be set-up at the venue of the conference, and delegates can register after they have checked-in.]

18.00 – 22.00  Welcome reception and fellowship

  • Worship to be led by Lito Tayag, Country Coordinator for Thailand

  • Welcome remarks by Prakal Oudomugsorn, CFC Thailand National Director

  • Dinner and cultural presentations by CFC Thailand
    [The CFC communities from Bangkok, Thare, Korat and others will present Thai music, dances and songs.]

Saturday, 7 December 2002

08.30 – 12.30 First plenary session
[CFC Malaysia will provide the emcee for the session.]

  • Worship, to be led by CFC Brunei

  • Talk by Frank Padilla on the global mission of CFC

  • Talk by Tony Meloto on the social ministry of CFC

  • Talk by Jun Uriarte on mission ad gentes of CFC

    [
    Each talk will be for 45 minutes. Within each talk there could be a sharing. After each talk there could be a song, dance, reflection or prayer accompanied by song or music.]

12.30 – 14.00 Lunch break

14.00 – 17.30 Break-out sessions

[There will be three parallel sessions in separate rooms for the presentation of country papers and sharing of experiences and challenges in evangelization. The use of audio-visuals, e.g., Microsoft Powerpoint, is encouraged. Delegates are free to choose which session to attend, depending on the availability of space in the session hall.]

Session 1: Evangelization in predominantly Muslim areas

  • Papers, talks or sharings from Indonesia

  • Papers, talks or sharings from Malaysia

Session 2: Evangelization in predominantly Buddhist areas
[To be chaired by Cambodia]

  • Papers, talks or sharings from Cambodia

  • Papers, talks or sharings from Thailand

  • Papers, talks or sharings from Vietnam)

Session 3: Evangelization through the social ministries
[To be chaired by the Philippines]

  • Papers, talks or sharings from the Philippines

  • Papers, talks or sharings from Singapore

    [
    Delegations from various parts of the Philippines may present their work in the social ministries, e.g Gawad Kalinga, Medical Mission and others. Delegation from Singapore may share on the experience and challenges of evangelization in Singapore and how the community could help in CFC’s work with the poor.]    

18.30 – 21.00 Dinner reception and fellowship

  • Brief worship, to be led by CFC Singapore

  • Dinner and presentations from foreign delegations

    [CFC Thailand will provide the emcee. Each country --Brunei, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam – will be allocated 15 minutes each for the presentation.]

Sunday, 8 December 2002

08.30 – 10.30 Holy Mass

[H.E. Cardinal Michael Michai Kitbunchu will be invited to celebrate the Mass and deliver a homily on evangelization, focusing on the  evangelization in Thailand. Other bishops and priests may join the Cardinal in concelebrating the Mass.]

11.00 – 12.30 Continuation of break-out sessions

[Continuation of the sharing of experiences and preparation of session reports and recommendations.]

12.30 – 14.00 Lunch break

14.00 – 16.30 Final plenary session
[To be emceed by CFC Vietnam]

  • Opening talk and introduction by CFC Thailand

  • Presentation of the reports of break-out sessions by the chairmen

  • CFC Indonesia

  • CFC Cambodia

  • CFC Philippines

  • Presentation of conference resolution or declaration or statement, by CFC Thailand

  • Closing talk or exhortation by Rouquel Ponte or Frank Padilla

  • Praisefest, to be led by CFC Philippines
