Prodigal Son “Home Coming”
“Return to the Lord with all your hearts” Joel 2:13

This retreat involves praying through Luke 15:11-24. The parable is divided into three sections:

Participant is helped to journey through
these sections. How?

  • Each section is described from an historical, cultural perspective.
  • A personal experience of that particular section is given
  • Time for personal reflection follows

Retreatant is encouraged to respond to the Lord’s gentle leading and invitation to:

  • Come to terms with one’s woundedness.
  • Face deep hurts which God desires healed.
  • Make a deeper surrender to one’s life to God.

Outcome

  • Seeing oneself as loved and precious in God’s sight.
  • Healing of painful memories
  • Experiencing the joy and freedom of living more fully a life empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Healing Mass concludes the retreat

Materials

  • Participant to bring bible, notebook and pen

Note: Participants encouraged to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation prior to the retreat.
